IAS Launches "M&R-In-A-Box"
Friday, July 14, 2006
(OAKLAND, CA) - International Asset Systems (IAS), a technology enabled asset management services provider, has modified its popular Equipment Repair Cycle (ERC) application -- which is widely-used by top-tier ocean carriers and major equipment lessors – and has scaled it for use by smaller container and chassis operators for their maintenance and repair operations. The new service, "M&R-In-A-Box," is a complete, stand-alone and fully supported M&R management system, and offers the same powerful functionality being used by larger, more complex operations on a smaller scope.
"With M&R-in-a-Box, our customers will see significant, direct cost savings and operational benefits," said Doug Owen, General Manager, Europe/Middle East. "Our ERC customers typically achieve savings of 10 to 30% in the first year alone. Their operations are also more efficient, because M&R staff can focus on solving genuine equipment problems rather than dealing constantly with vendors and data input."
The latest service will provide companies with everything required to run an effective M&R management program. M&R-in-a-Box provides Internet-based repair estimates for up to 25 M&R vendors, as well as point-and-click M&R estimate processing, a complete suite of M&R management reports, on-site training and 24x7 support.
5500 Users and Over Two Million Estimates Processed.
Since IAS launched a robust version of the Equipment Repair Cycle application in 2003, users have been able to access repair estimates online from container depots that offer estimates via the Internet with the web-based ERC system. There are over 5500 registered users to date and this month IAS marks the system's 2,000,000th estimate.
Owen added the flexible system is capable of processing estimates from users that enter estimate information using the IAS web screens or from users that prefer to use their in-house proprietary system which later exports files to IAS. The milestone points to a growing use by ocean carriers, leasing companies and depots looking for the flexibility and ease of web based systems. There are over 1600 IAS Connected™ facilities located throughout 70 countries worldwide.
