IAS Board of Directors

As with the management team, the IAS® Board of Directors is comprised primarily of transportation industry leaders. The Board’s leadership has provided critical strategic direction and commitment to IAS since the firm’s inception in 1998. 

Edward P. Schneider, Chairman

Ed is Chairman and a co-founder of Triton Container International Limited, and Chairman of Triton Holdings Limited. He brings over 30 years of executive-level container leasing experience to the IAS Board, having assisted in guiding Triton to its present-day position as one of the world’s largest container leasing firms. From 1975 until he co-founded Triton, he held senior financial roles, including those of Vice President–Finance and Treasurer with Itel Container Division. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Business School.

Paul J. Crinks

Widely acknowledged as a pioneer in applying information technology to improve the efficiency of container shipping operations, Paul has over 30 years of experience in the container shipping industry. Paul joined IAS from Transamerica Leasing, where he was Managing Director of Greybox Logistics Services, an online equipment exchange service. Before running Greybox, he managed Transamerica’s dry container fleet, then the largest in the world. Prior to joining Transamerica, Paul served on the board of a major UK-based leasing company and was responsible for the company’s activities in Europe, South America, the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean. Paul began his career at SeaContainers, where he held various positions in the container leasing and vessel management groups.

Steven C. Wight

Steve is Executive Vice President of Triton Holdings Limited and Managing Director of Triton Container International Limited. He has been a senior financial officer of the Triton group of companies for over 28 years. Prior to joining Triton, he was with Itel Corporation’s Rail Division and a commercial banker with Union Bank of California. He is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, and of the University of Southern California.

Edward L. Thomas

Edward co-founded IAS in 1998. Currently Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Triton Container International Limited, he previously served as the company’s Vice President of the Americas and Director of Risk Management. Prior to Triton, Edward held senior financial and commercial positions with Tiphook Container Rental, including those of Finance Director, Commercial Director, and President of Tiphook Container Rental in the Americas. He is a graduate of University College, Cardiff.

Steven M. Dowse

Steve has over 30 years of IT experience within the global transportation equipment management arena. Before joining IAS, he served as Chief Information Officer for Transamerica Leasing, where he was a major driver in bringing the company’s information and services to the web. Steve also led various initiatives that positioned Transamerica as a recognized leader in delivering e-commerce solutions within the industry. Prior to Transamerica, Steve was Group IT Director for a major UKbased equipment lessor. Earlier, he developed and managed systems for a leading international oilfield exploration service company.

Robert T. Skinner

Robert has senior executive experience in both large and developing companies. He founded, developed and sold several ventures, including Denbi Diapers Inc., J Street Partners, and International Equipment Marketing Inc. He was Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Wolf Container companies from 2001 until their sale in 2006. Robert has held senior financial and operating positions at Visa International, Raychem Corporation, and Itel Container Division. He is a California CPA and a graduate of the University of Denver and the Hass Business School at the University of California Berkeley.

Jay L. Fisher

Jay co-founded IAS in 1998. He has over 30 years of experience as an executive in companies serving commercial customers in domestic and international markets. In 1987, Jay founded and successfully grew Electronic Catalog Corporation (ECAT®), a pioneer firm in using the Internet for catalog sales. ECAT clients include Apple Computer, AT&T, BellSouth, Federated Department Stores, GE Information Services, Japan Gray Line, Levi Strauss, Network MCI, Pacific Telesis, and Toyo Sashi. Jay holds a B.S. in Economics from Babson College.

Ian K. Schwartz

Ian is a partner in the law firm Manwell & Schwartz. He is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, and of Yeshiva University–Benjamin Cardozo School of Law.
